Columbia Remtec Manufacturing is a local tank trailer manufacturer for companies
specializing in the bulk crude oil/fuel transportation industry. They have been
in business since 1939 and have an excellent reputation for the quality of their
products. They are requiring a full-time draftsman/draftswoman with a
mechanical aptitude to join their company. The successful candidate will be
reporting to the engineer for CAD related work. They will provide training on
Solid Edge for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
 |
Updating CAD drawings. |
|
Reviewing specifications for each project and identifying specific customer
product requirements. |
|
Producing layouts, detailed design schemes, and engineering drawings that
fully defines their products and parts to be manufactured. |
|
Compiling Bills of Materials that contain all the information required by
production to manufacture the product. |
|
Ensuring that all documentation produced for each project undertaken fully
defines the product to be manufactured and its performance. |
|
Implementing design change as requested by the engineer. |
|
Reviewing product design to ensure the product is functional and can be
produced with high quality while maintaining the lowest cost possible. |
Qualifications:
| BCIT
or technical school training in mechanical drafting. |
|
Preferences will be given to candidates with experience in Solid Edge. |
|
Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or pressure vessel is an asset. |
| The
candidate should be organized, a quick learner, fast thinker, and able to work
with minimum supervision on multiple projects under his/her control. |
| The
candidate should possess the necessary technical skills to produce basic
design calculations in providing solutions to engineering problems. |
